Reed in Asia - Asian Diaries
Coming together nicely now!
Dumrong was waiting for me in the dome the following morning and he told me that we should be able to see Chiloey that day, so I told him that I had already seen him and spoken to him the previous evening in the hotel. After a short while, Chiloey turned up at the dome, said hello to me and then started talking to Dumrong in rapid Thai, they spoke together for about ten minutes and then Chiloey left quickly. Dumrong then told me that they had agreed on what to do with the gun barrel, he then said that some transport would be coming for him soon and he needed the money to buy the barrel, I got the money from my briefcase, gave it to him and I told him that I needed a receipt for the barrel, he took the money and then asked me where the counterweight for the barrel was, so I showed him, because it was still in the dome near the gun. An RTAF truck arrived a short while later and Dumrong with the aid of the driver loaded the counterweight onto it, he then told me that he would be gone for a couple of hours and I said to him that if I wasn't in the dome when he returned, then I would be in Cafe On and then they left.
I spent most of that morning just watching the operators practicing and giving them some advice when I saw that they had missed or forgotten something important in their routine. I left early for lunch that day and drove to the Cafe On, had a meal and then sat drinking beer and thinking, this contract would be coming to an end soon and I would have to go back to UK, but what do I do with On? I had developed very strong feelings for her now and living together as we had been doing, it just seemed so natural to go home to her after work now. I was still thinking about all of this when Dumrong walked in and sat down with me, he handed me a receipt and told me that we had the barrel and that it was being modified in the workshop now, I asked him which workshop he had taken it to and he then told me that Chiloey had arranged for an RTAF workshop to do the modifications for us and that it would cost us nothing, that was good for me, because it meant that I had a lot of money on hand for my personal expences now. After a couple of beers with Dumrong I paid the bill and we went back to the dome. I asked Dumrong how long it would be until we received the modified counterweight and he said that the workshop had told him to go back and collect it in two days time, we both then left the dome, Dumrong had to report back to his office and I went back to the hotel and the girl waiting for me there .
Back at the hotel, On was surprised to see me so soon, I told her that everything was going to be okay with the dome now and that I had nothing to do for two days. On then suggested that we could go out the next day and she would take me to the crocodile farm that they had there, that sounded good to me so I quickly agreed. After fooling around in the hotel room for a while , I suggested going to the Tavvern that evening, On seemed happy with my suggestion, so we got ready quickly, left the hotel and went to Patpong, Tony was happy to see us and told me about some new videos that he had, On worked as the cashier that night for him and I just watched the videos, had the odd game of darts and had my usual copious amount of beer . As was becoming normal for me in the Tavvern now, I ordered some tacos to eat in there, On shared some food with some of the other staff in the back and we just had a pleasant evening in there that night. Back at the hotel later we went into the disco, danced a lot and stayed in there until it closed, then we went up to our room for a good nightcap before finally going to sleep .
'And so it goes On!'

I shall be adding to this site over time, so if anyone is interested then please have a little patience and call back here from time to time. One of my very few pleasures in life these days is beer so I shall be occasionally referring to beer, I just wish that beer was the only reason that I am legless all the time
Thanks for viewing my site, cheers for now, Legless
